”A Day in Frame” - Peacehaven, Newhaven, Seaford- Contact Sheets- 11/01/25
This time, I managed to visit three interesting locations in the first half of the day: Peacehaven, Newhaven, and Seaford.
Peacehaven is a quiet coastal town with stunning views of the cliffs and the sea, creating perfect conditions for meditative walks and photography.
Newhaven is known for its port and fishing vibe, where the maritime spirit blends with modern elements.
Seaford offers a beautiful beach area with wide sandy shores that look especially striking in the morning light.
Even though I continued working on the project “Where Paths Cross,” I still managed to capture a few shots for the “A Day in Frame” series.
I decided to shoot in black and white for the first time in a long while. The bright winter light and my mood inspired me to create a short series of images that convey a specific atmosphere and feeling.
Why is winter light special in photography?
Winter light is soft yet bright, creating long, expressive shadows. The sun stays low on the horizon throughout the day, adding depth to the frames and emphasizing textures and details. It has a cooler tonal quality but a warmer emotional resonance, making it indispensable for creating dramatic and emotionally rich photographs.
For me, winter light is my favorite light of the year. It perfectly reflects my vision of photography as an art form that bridges the subjective and the objective.
All shots were taken on a Leica MP240 with an Elmarit 90mm f/2.8 lens.
