”A Day in Frame” - Brighton- Contact Sheets- 04/09/24

I finally found time to test my new lens, and today's post "A Day in Frame" was shot with the Leica MP240 paired with the Leitz Tele-Elmarit 90mm f/2.8 (version II).

This lens is truly compact and lightweight.

The f/2.8 aperture allows for some interesting bokeh and provides enough light for shooting in low-light conditions.

Overall, I like the image quality, but it's somewhat of a compromise because:

It doesn't handle backlighting very well.

I hope to fix this with a lens hood, and I wish the minimum focusing distance were shorter. 1m isn't quite enough for me.

I also had to add a focus tab, and after that, everything worked perfectly.

As always, color grading was done in Dehancer.

By the way, in previous blogs, you've asked about my editing process. My approach is very simple: I tweak the JPEG settings directly on the camera, avoid shooting in RAW, and always stick to the principle of straight photography. No manipulations, no multiple exposures, and no post-processing in external editors — what you see is what I captured at the moment of shooting.

Now, onto the main topic — this time, the photos were taken again in Brighton. This city is known for its diversity and energy. In Brighton, contrasts meet: from cozy narrow streets with unique little shops to wide beaches and grand piers. The city impresses with its cultural richness, featuring various exhibitions, art galleries, and festivals. The street life here is vibrant, making Brighton the perfect place for street photography.

Enjoy!
